My day starts at 4 am, others have their days starting as early as 2 am and whichever time that one starts his or her day, the stomach will surely call for  attention and one have to respond accordingly. Breakfast in Ghana mostly depend on the tedious nature of one’s work or  schedule which will make skipping of breakfast imminent.

Early mornings normally come with Breakfast meals in cereals, Milo, coffee or Lipton with sliced bread and salad but its not always the norm with a section of Ghanaians or readers else where around the globe. Most people go beyond the norm to eat what dietitians will say is not cut for breakfast meals

Agyemfra.com will take you through a breakfast food tour and show you 5 popular foods that is patronized as breakfast and prioritized above Hausa Kooko, Milo, Oats etc

1.Waakye

I just saw you smile seeing waakye as the leader of the 5 delicacies we are about to talk about;yes  a lot of Ghanaians would take waakye as early as 3 am and will be good to go till it’s noon or even after. The rice mixed with beans and a medicinal leave to change its color goes with chopped veggies, macaroni or spaghetti, gari and the icing on the waakye ‘cake’ is always more shito and ‘wele’ or ‘kawuro’.

2.Gari & Beans

This delicacy have several aliases, such as concrete, g)b3, red-red etc; and can be taken as early as 6 am and calling the bluff of porridge, Lipton or Milo. This breakfast meal, which is complemented with fried red plantain and veggies, many believe can sustain you till whenever you feel like taking a snack. This type of breakfast is much popular among men.

3.Plain rice & Palmnut soup

Among the indigents of Adansi, Amansie, Denkyira and Wassa, this is the king of all Breakfast meals. Workers in these areas have also adjusted to enjoying this wonderful meal; making oats, milo, This Way, Hausa kooko and other cereals secondary. It is best enjoyed with boiled beans, salmons and herrings.

4.Ga Kenkey

Ga Kenkey addicts tell us they cannot skip their early morning hot kenkey with red pepper and shito, complemented with shrimps, red fish, herrings, fried or boiled crabs and go pick a calabash of hot hausa kooko, buy or prepare a mug of This way, Oats or Lipton.

This wonderful breakfast food can take you a whole day only if you respond to thirst.

5.Mashed TZ

Yes, same way people like myself mash left over banku, some Tuo zaafi (TZ) lovers don’t waste left over TZs. This is best enjoyed with roasted groundnuts or biscuits and comes no where near any other beverage.

Hello, why don’t you skip your regular  cup of tea, Lipton, Oats and hausa kooko  and set out to experience any of the above breakfast meals.
