In 2015, I lost my kid bro to a swimming pool incident. After visiting the morgue, I wept my heart out but had to lead some elderly men to break the heart piercing news to my anxious mum who was waiting to go see her last baby at the hospital…
When I got home, I told her jnr was doing good but she asked why my voice was shaky and eyes too red, I said it was a normal flu.
The elderly men also told her Jnr was well, so she should eat..she got the news later!
Today, I have come to tell you It Is Well! Yes, it is…In 2Kings 4:8-37, the Bible tells us about how Elisha reciprocated an honour done him by the Shunnamite woman with a prophecy of a son which came to pass.
Now, the only son fell ill and died on her mum’s laps, she boldly kept her cool, and carried the boy upstairs to a room dedicated for the Prophet and lay him on the bed without screaming or crying.
When her husband asked how the boy was, she said, IT IS WELL.! knowing very well the boy was dead, but her unwavering Faith in God made her smile in the midst of a turbulence that wasn’t normal to any normal mother of just a child.
She took a horse and searched for the Prophet; who came, prayed for the boy and he was resurrected.
My brothers and sisters, in times of trials, don’t talk too much, don’t be explaining yourself to people who might not get you answers, but go on your knees and talk to the biggest Man up there!
You’ve lost a job, a baby, a spouse or a contract; look, you aren’t the first person and wouldn’t be the last. Tell yourself, It Is Well!
We’re in the 9th month of the year, but things aren’t going as you planned, don’t throw your hands in despair. Tell yourself IT IS WELL and believe in the yet to happen miracle.
Let people use you as a measuring rod for Faith. As you tell yourself it is well, let the tears flow gently as you thank God for what he’s about doing.
The Shunnamite woman would’ve told her old husband about their son’s death but she might have also considered the man’s health, and the drama that would’ve erupted if she had said she was going to look for Elisha.
Today is Tuesday, if we have life then, IT IS WELL…
Enjoy your week and stay safe!
