6. Do not cram up a number of resolutions for the year. Ideally, just one goal would be more desirable. This is because it helps you to devote all your attention to it and ensure its accomplishment. However, one or two additional goals would be ok so long as you remain committed to achieving them.
7. Assess what factors lie in your control and what doesnt. When making resolutions, consider that there are some factors that lie outside your control. You can therefore not guarantee the achievement of that particular goal. For instance, you must have a willing partner before you can make a resolution to marry.
8. Do a mid-year review of your goals. Do not wait till December 31st to review your goals. In the course of the year, assess the extent to which you have been able to achieve your goals. This exercise will help you to address any challenges that the resolution is facing.
9. Develop a passion for your goals. Remember these goals are yours. To make them happen, you must be unconditionally committed to achieving them.
10. Finally, place all your resolutions before God. He alone knows our future so let Him navigate you through the future.
